Donor Bill of Rights

The promises we make to every donor — and the rights you can always expect from us.

Our commitment to donors

Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the not-for-profit organizations and causes they are asked to support, CBB Canada declares that all donors have the rights set out below.

We are committed to transparency, accountability and treating every supporter with honesty and respect — before, during and long after a gift is made.

Placeholder content: this Donor Bill of Rights is provided as a starting point, adapted from the widely used Donor Bill of Rights. CBB Canada should review and finalize the wording before it is published.
